Wolf Pack Cafe, named "Restaurant of the Month" by Discover
Wisconsin in February of 2000, offers many unique and homemade
meals. Described by Discover Wisconsin as having a "simple and
homey atmosphere," Wolf Pack Cafe in St. Germain is a great
place to go to get a meal and a smile. The cafe was also
recognized for "Best Meal" in an Eau Claire newspaper and
Unlimited Magazine said the restaurant had the best pancakes in
2003.
"Everything is homemade fresh and we use real maple syrup and
butter, not margarine," said owner Kathy Lass. Kathy and her
husband, Joe, have owned and operated Wolf Pack Cafe since
January 1999 and strive to bring the best to their customers.
"We try to do everything a step above the test," said Kathy.
The cafe's motif is true to its name; wall-to-wall wolves
welcome diners as they enter the cafe. The decor includes wolf
prints and customer-donated handmade wolf items. It truly gives
a North Woods fell to the dining experience. Besides being known
for their "world's best pancakes" and "world's greatest
burgers," Wolf Pack Cafe is home to the hash brown sandwich. It
is made with real potatoes that are always fresh and never
frozen.
Some of the other unique meals Wolf Pack Cafe offers include
pan-fried perch (available blackened) with eggs, potatoes, and
toast, and meatloaf and eggs. Another meal that has become
famous at the cafe is the Sunday Special - a creamy shrimp
Creole over poached eggs, served with blackened French bread.
Wolf Pack Cafe also offers daily specials. They offer homemade
potato chips, which are seasoned and served warm. Homemade
deserts are also available daily.
Wolf Pack Cafe is open from 6:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. daily and is
closed Tuesdays. Breakfast is now served all day. Sunday is
breakfast only, served from 6:00 a.m. until noon.
Wolf Pack Cafe is located off Highway 70 in the middle of
downtown St. Germain at 426 Highway 70 E, next to St. Germain
Sport Marine. For more information, call the cafe at (715)
479-8737.
